HANBURY SHOW PIE NIGHT 2016
Hanbury Countryside Show – Pie Night Friday 18th November
The first Hanbury Countryside Show Pie Night was held at the Jinney Ring Craft Centre on Friday 18th November. Guests were treated to an excellent selection of pies for their main course, these included the classic steak and ale and ocean pies plus a very tasty game pie. The pies had all been made by the chiefs at the Jinney Ring and were served with perfectly cooked seasonal vegetables. The desserts offered included a delicious lemon meringue pie and decadent banoffee pie.
The evening had a terrific atmosphere, many local residents attended including many from Hanbury and Bradley Green. During the evening a £1000 cheque was accepted by Jenny Ashman on behalf of the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. The Hanbury Show has been making donations to the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity for over ten years. In 2017 the Midlands Air Ambulance will be the Show’s chosen charity once again.
Profits from the Pie Night will go towards the purchase of items needed for the 2017 Show these include metal crowd barriers and signage. During the evening a raffle and small auction were held to raise further funds, all funds raised from the raffle were donated to Hanbury Church to help towards the new heating system.
The evening proved to be a great success; the staff at the Jinney Ring were fantastic and the food wonderful. We are very lucky to have such a fantastic restaurant in Hanbury. A huge thanks must go to Amanda and Malcolm for kindly allowing us to use the Jinney Rings facilities and to all those who attended and helped to made the evening so enjoyable.
The annual Hanbury Show Fish and Chip Quiz Night will be held on Friday 24th February, further details will be circulated in the New Year.
